Evaline, a cheerful woman in her 30s, battles the roads of East Africa with her 20-tonne truck. It is behind the wheel, where she finds ultimate freedom, as a truck driver, a woman and a mother. But when she gives birth to her second son and returns to the road, that freedom is challenged.
She is desperately searching for a nanny who will take care of her son while she is away. When on the road, she constantly calls home to check the well-being of her son and remotely runs the household. At the same time, she is fighting for her role as a woman truck driver. The road is her queendom and she is not afraid of standing up for herself despite being the only woman among male drivers. She flourishes in this tough environment and enjoys the empowerment, fulfilment and independence she gains from it while delivering cargo across three countries. But this drive to South Sudan is different. All she can think about is getting back to her son as fast as possible. But when her truck breaks down on her way back, she starts questioning the price of her freedom.
When she finally comes home and reunites with her family, she is ready to leave the road behind. All she wants is to spend time with her sons. How much is she willing to sacrifice for her freedom?
